Song of the Week #1

So, I was thinking that every Tuesday I would post a Song of the Week. Since I don’t have much time during the day to do stuff due to band starting up again today. (Yay!) Head on after the break for this week's song - Piano Man by Billy Joel!


  Why this song you say?  Well, I’ve always loved this song. It’s sad, sweet, hopeful, and the words are so awesome! Billy Joel has a lot of great songs, but I think this one is my favorite. The melody, the words, the emotion put into it, it just sweeps you up! Some of my favorite lines are,


It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been comin' to see
To forget about life for a while

   Though honestly, I think all the verses are great. Billy Joel does a great job at storytelling when it comes to his music. It makes you feel like you’re really there hearing these stories. Billy Joel’s Piano Man is definitely a classic and I’m glad I got to hear it on the radio today. Hearing songs like these really remind me why I love music so much and want to make it my life.
