Song of the Week #3
Hey! Welcome back to our Song of the Week #3 featuring Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas! Sure I could’ve picked a love song but I’ve had enough of those lately. Head on down below for more!
I’m not too familiar with the band Kansas but this song has been stuck in my head for a while now, and listening back to it I can see why I love it so much. The harmonies in the chorus are spot on and that guitar is AMAZING!!! It’s songs like these that make me want to learn more lead guitar and start a band. Which I might actually do as a side thing...
So, while going through the lyrics to pick a line or two to showcase I realized how much I like these words! It was a hard decision but I finally decided on these:
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about, I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune,
But I hear the voices say
Carry on my wayward son
There'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more no!
It may be a rock song but that doesn’t mean the lyrics can’t be moving. These seem like the kind of things I would say in one of my own songs. And the guitar solo is right after, and that riff is so much fun to listen to. It makes me feel like I can do anything! *sigh* The joys of music...
Anyways...
